Most Expensive Florida Homes See Price Increase
Forbes Magazine’s survey of the “Ten Most Expensive Homes in America,” which included various Florida homes, found that the prices of these properties have increased by 5 percent since last year, from an average of $55.25 million to $58.1 million. “That’s more than 216 times the average home-sale price as of August 2005.”
So what makes these Florida homes so expensive? Yes, it has a lot to do with that old cliché. Parts of Florida are associated with great wealth, and the wealthy are willing to pay more in order to be in good company.
But location aside, size is also a huge factor, especially when factoring in the “main house, guest houses, staff quarters and spacious pool cabanas.” The smallest of the Florida homes to make the list is 6,650 square feet.
Amenities are also an important draw. Only Florida homes with “luxurious details” can justify selling at over $45 million.
