Florida Housing Market Third in Nation
Florida housing is some of the hottest on the national market. A number of cities, such as Naples, Orlando, West Palm Beach, Boynton Beach and Boca Raton, "are seeing their values catapult in sort of a bull market where various regions take turns at the top of the heap."
The Arizona, Nevada, California and Florida housing markets were the top four in the nation for price appreciation during the first quarter. The Florida housing market is expected to continue near the top of the list during the second quarter, with Fannie Mae currently placing the state at number three.
Only one thing might hinder the Florida housing market: across the state, there is not much land left to develop. "As Gulf Coast cities expand to the east and Atlantic Coast cities grow west, they´re beginning to touch the swamplands in the Florida peninsula´s central region."
The Florida housing boom cannot go on forever, but for now the market is still strong. Only time will tell which cities and states have staying power.
