Florida Real Estate Agents Not Always What They Seem
Florida's hot real estate market has brought lots of speculators out into
the market. Most Florida real estate investors are out to cash in on
rising appreciation and turn a quick profit by buying low and selling
high. But some are instead making the most of those very transactions.
According to South Florida's NBC 6 station, the number of Florida real
estate agents has exploded along with the prices of Florida properties.
And not all of them are as qualified as one might hope - complaints
against real estate agents are rising twice as quickly as the number of
new realty professionals.
Many take advantage of Floridas lax real estate agent licensing laws.
They may take an eager buyers down payment and disappear with it
overnight. Between 2002 and 2004, the number of complaints lodged against
real estate agents doubled from 4526 to 8726.
